The Incident
On Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, shortly after 10:30 pm, a head-on collision occurred on I-20 eastbound near Haughton, Louisiana. The accident involved a 2018 Jeep Cherokee driven by 38-year-old Alejandra Berry of Shreveport and a 2024 Mack 18-wheeler traveling in the opposite direction.
Cause Under Investigation
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Initial reports indicate that Berry was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-20. Police suspect impairment as a potential factor and toxicology samples are being analyzed.
Aftermath
The head-on collision tragically resulted in the death of Ms. Berry. The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained no injuries.
