Lafourche Parish, La. - Motorcycle Rider Dies in Crash

The Incident

On Thursday, February 15th, 2024, a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a truck occurred on LA Highway 308 near the intersection with U.S. Highway 90 in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, around 6:00 AM. The accident tragically resulted in the death of the motorcyclist.

Cause Under Investigation

Initial reports suggest that 52-year-old Tony Mire of Thibodaux, riding a southbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on LA 308, failed to yield at an intersection and turned left to enter U.S. Highway 90, colliding with a northbound Chevrolet S-10 truck. Toxicology samples were collected from Mr. Mire for analysis. Louisiana State Police Troop C continues to investigate the cause of the collision.

Aftermath

Mr. Mire sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured and was determined not to be impaired.
This marks the second fatal crash investigated by Troop C in 2024.
