The Incident
On February 26th, 2024, a tragic accident occurred on Lower Country Drive in Bourg, Louisiana, shortly after 10:00 pm. A single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian resulted in the death of 30-year-old Kristie Brunet.
Details
- Ms. Brunet was walking northbound on Lower Country Drive when she was struck by a northbound 2005 GMC Sierra.
- The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
- Ms. Brunet died at the scene, while the driver of the GMC was not injured.
Investigation
Louisiana State Police Troop C is investigating the accident. Toxicology samples were collected from both Ms. Brunet and the driver of the GMC. The driver was determined not to be impaired by alcohol.
