The Incident
A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, on LA Highway 9 at the Bienville/Natchitoches Parish line. Shortly after 6:30 pm, a large tree uprooted and fell across the road, causing a three-vehicle collision.
Details
- A southbound Toyota Tacoma driven by Clois Williams collided with the fallen tree.
- Two other vehicles also struck the tree.
- Mr. Williams and his passenger, Mary Williams, were not wearing seat belts and suffered fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
- Two other drivers sustained minor injuries and received medical attention.
Investigation
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Toxicology samples were collected from the drivers, although impairment is not suspected.
