The Incident
A tragic accident occurred on March 8th, 2024, shortly before 3:30 pm, on Louisiana Highway 347 near Guidry Road in St. Martin Parish. The accident involved a pedestrian and a vehicle, resulting in the death of 82-year-old Jannell Dore of Breaux Bridge.
Details
- Ms. Dore was attempting to cross LA 347 while walking westbound when she was struck by a northbound 2006 Nissan Titan.
- Ms. Dore suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
- Louisiana State Police Troop I is investigating the cause of the accident.
- Toxicology samples were collected from both Ms. Dore and the driver of the Nissan as part of standard procedures. The driver showed no signs of impairment and a breathalyzer test indicated no alcohol presence.
