The Incident
On Thursday morning, shortly after 5:00 am, a tragic accident occurred on U.S. Highway 90 in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. The accident involved two pedestrians and a car.
Details
- A large object fell from a commercial vehicle onto the highway, causing a car to break down.
- Two pedestrians, including 37-year-old Benjamin Credeur from Rayne, Louisiana, were standing near the wrecked car.
- A driver in a Honda, attempting to avoid the previously disabled car, struck both pedestrians.
Fatality and Injuries
- Mr. Credeur sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
- The other pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital outside the area for treatment.
Investigation
Louisiana State Police Troop C is investigating the accident. The driver of the Honda was wearing a seatbelt but sustained injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. The driver was determined not to be impaired and voluntarily submitted to a blood toxicology sample for analysis.
